Audience Profile Candidates for this exam use Microsoft Visual ECMAScript (JavaScript, Microsoft JScript) * Internet Information Server (IIS). This is Microsoft's version of JavaScript (yep, the thing that annoys us *sometimes* in IE) and can also be used to create server side pages (ASP, ASP.NET) or desktop applications. JScript.NET (Javascript for CLR) ships with the framework redist. Jsc.exe is the compiler exe, just invoke that. VB.NET – yep, VB.NET could be called a “dynamic language” when you explicitly declare: Your typical C# program (C# being a kind of static language) will cobble together a whole slew of statements, one of which will be a declaration of a variable: string s; Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. I'm sure the list above is not even complete. JScript.net runtime just requires installation of the .net redistributable or an OS that has the correct version of .net installed. More on JScript here: http://www.gotdotnet.com/team/jscript/. Apparently JScript is now called JScript.NET and can be compiled to create .exe files. In addition, candidates should have a good grasp of ASP.NET AJAX. I am going to write some posts on JScript.net coding. At the time of writing, the best location for getting the SDK and redistributable is ..here. JScript.NET is installed as part of the .NET SDK, which you can install from http://msdn.microsoft.com/net/. Candidates should be very familiar with Visual Studio 2005 or later and the .NET Framework classes that are related to ASP.NET and ADO.NET. Off to the main topic of the post. OK, it's a joke that with one programming skill only you'll be employed for life, but it's a fun thought anyway. I am in the process of updating the quick start guide below so it can be of most help to people NET? As a reference book I also studied Programming Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5 by Dino Esposito.
